Laser hair removal is a medical treatment that uses the light and pulsation of lasers to remove hair. It is most effective on dark and coarse strands and it works especially well on individuals with dark hair and light skin. The beam passes through the skin and to the hair follicle. Heat from the laser damages the follicle, which inhibits natural growth. The procedure does not guarantee permanent removal, but it has been known to slow re-growth.

The primary purpose for this treatment is to remove unwanted hair. It can also be used to treat ingrown hairs and pilonidal cysts. Some of the most common areas for treatment include the upper lip, chin, pubic region, armpits and abdomen. Beams target the melanin or pigment so it is easier to target dark strands from light surfaces. This type of treatment is not as effective on white, gray or even blond strands. Patients with dark skin are at risk of having the laser attract to the pigment in their skin and cause discoloration.

Like most medical procedures, there are risks and side effects involved. First, there is no guarantee that this will permanently remove the hair. With this said, re-growth may be lighter in color and finer in texture. Common side effects include, but are not limited to: skin irritation, crusting and scabbing and change in skin pigmentation. Less common side effects: change in skin texture, infection, scarring, blistering and allergy to removal gel or numbing creams.

Those interested in having this procedure done should research their doctor. A doctor should be board certified. Be aware that some salons and spas allow workers who are not properly trained to perform the treatment. In preparation for the removal, avoid sun exposure. Also avoid waxing, plucking and electrolysis in the area because these actions can irritate the follicle.

Cost will vary. There are different factors that influence total cost. For instance, the size of the area and the time and number of sessions required. Consult a doctor for more specific price ranges. Payment plans may be available.

Setting up a meeting with your doctor is important. They can brief you on what to expect before, during and after treatment. Typically before the procedure, the patient is given special goggles to protect their eyes. A doctor may apply a topical anesthetic. This can help reduce discomfort during the procedure.

During the procedure the doctor will use a handheld laser. The equipment is pressed up against the skin. A patient may experience a stinging sensation when the it is on. Treatment time depends on the area. It can take from a few minutes to an hour. Sometimes multiple sessions are needed.

When treatment is complete, there may be redness and swelling with the first couple hours. The stinging sensation may last for one to two days. It is best to avoid sun exposure, natural and artificial, for a few weeks. The final results differ from person to person. If multiple treatments are needed, they are typically space eight weeks apart, depending on the area. The strands removed during treatment should begin to shed within two to three weeks.

It does not matter where you shave, why you do it or how you do it; it is probably time-consuming, costly and painful. Whether you buy your own wax, pay a professional to do it, change razorblades once a week to do your daily routine, or purchase expensive creams to get away painlessly, the result is usually the same. You also need to repeat the process over and over again. If you consider it troublesome, consider laser hair removal to get rid of it for good.

Most people will start off with regular shaving, sometimes forgetting the cream and relying on nothing but the blade. Aside from how easy you can get cuts, it provides a temporary result and you get some hair back the next day; sometimes you can see bits of hair on the very day you had a cut. It is troublesome to have to remember to shave every single day, and can be hard to do when you are on vacation.

Waxing is usually the better alternative, since it gives you more time in between sessions. You can go on a short vacation without worry this way. It does bring its drawbacks in the highly unaesthetic way the treated area looks up to days afterwards. It is also troublesome to have your hair grow to a certain length in order to have your next wax, since you have to keep yourself covered those days.

Waxing can be done hot or cold, either by a professional or by yourself. Hot wax is more efficient, but it is very unhygienic in a salon, since the same wax is used over and over again on multiple clients. Hot wax also brings the risk of burning your skin off is used improperly, so you do not want to be trying it at home either.

Cold wax comes in strips, which you can purchase at any store and use at home, if you have the guts. Keep in mind that good ones will cost quite a lot of money. You can have cold waxing done at the salon, but there is still a chance that it will painfully rip off your strands instead of pulling it out properly.

Removal creams are a painless variant, but they involve an unpleasant smell, time spent just waiting for it to dry and many strands can still stand after using it. Like shaving, its effects only last a day or so. Shaving machines are costly and extremely painful, but known for being efficient.

When you get tired of these methods, consider permanent removal to avoid them in the future. Permanent removal can make sure that you will not spend any more time on shaving, or money on doing so. It can be done by professionals and only take a few sessions to make.

Laser removal works by killing off the strands from the root in such a manner that they will not grow back, or will at least take years to do so. It can be done on any area. The number of sessions, cost and efficiency varies from person to person and area to area, but it will not take long either way.

Consider laser hair removal to get rid of such an annoying necessity as shaving regularly. This way you can have much more time for yourself. Financially speaking, it is a great investment, not to mention the fact that you only have to pay once.

Laser hair removal uses wavelengths of light that pulses around a specific area to remove follicles. Lasers work best on dark coarse hair. Most dark colors and light skin will be the best combination for targeted results. There are newer lasers out that are able to remove black colors in patients with darker skin tones.

Lasers for strands and whisker removal have been on the market since 1997. These removals are considered permanent but there can be re-growth in the same follicles on previously treated areas in the future. Hair on darker skin tones are the hardest to treat unlike course hair dark hair on lighter skin being the easier.

Most procedures take between 3 to 8 treatments. The treatments are usually fast depending on the tech operator that does the removal. If a patient is not a good candidate, they will see slow or no results that is typical. Most patients average about 7 treatments to get the desired results. The number of sessions needed will be determined on several factors. Skin color, the coarseness of area, gender and area of the body among others.

The purpose of the laser is to kill the root follicles within the skin leaving no ability to regrow. Since it grows in stages, multiple appointments are needed. Most treatments are spread out over 3 to 8 weeks. The face will typically need more treatments about 3 to 4 weeks apart. The shedding of the lasered areas takes about 2 to 3 weeks.

There are some typical side effects to expect after treatment. These can include redness, itching and possible swelling around the lasered area. These typically last no more than three days. If they were to last longer, contact the clinic you visited for more information, and instructions. Most locations provide instructions in regards to care, and what to expect.

Most clinics will have numbing creams to combat any pain that can be felt during the treatment. Some of these creams can be purchased over the counter. Verify dosage that can be used and when to place it. Do not use without approval. If you suffer from adverse side affects such as burning of the skin, contact the clinic immediately. It might just be a matter of adjusting the laser settings. There have also been reports of allergic reactions to the removal gel. Seek treatment from a physician if this were to occur.

Elimination of excess growth can be great for both men and women. Men will seek out this service to combat excessive growth on their backs or even chests. Women typically get their legs, bikini areas and over the lips done. Some women suffer from excessive growth on the arm and will seek out these services. Underarms are also another popular area for removal.

Whatever your reasons for seeking laser hair removal, check out the clinic you will use. Make sure they are up to date on their procedures so you can get the best results. A more popular clinic will achieve higher success rates, and have the experience to complete the procedures correctly as well as react to issues that arise.

As soon as the temperature rises, people do their best to keep their bodies cool. You can see many of them hitting the beach or wear skimpy attires to combat the sun. That’s why a lot of people undergo laser hair removal in summer time for varied benefits.

Maximizing air circulation over the skin is essential if you wish to feel cooler. One way of obtaining such is by getting rid of unwanted hairs. This also keeps excessive sweating and body odor at bay, so you stay dry and smelling fresh longer.

Mechanical means of removing excess hairs, such as plucking or shaving, need to be done repeatedly to maintain results. Re-growths show up only a few days after. While the use of depilatories can yield longer results, harsh chemicals in them may irritate sensitive skin.

Wearing skimpy attires or bikinis at the beach can be pulled off if there are no unsightly hairs visible to others. During this time of the year, you can spot a lot of women in shorts or minis, as well as sleeveless tops. The legs, bikini area and underarms must be soft and smooth. There are also lots of hairy men who prefer to ditch their chest and back hair so they can look much better while doing summer activities.

One great thing about laser treatment is the results obtained are longer lasting than others, such as mechanical and chemical methods. However, it definitely carries a steeper price tag. But when you place the advantages and disadvantages side by side, the pros definitely are hard to miss.

It’s rather easy to find a clinic offering this procedure near you. It’s always a good move to consider a reputable one. Ask someone you know for any recommendations. Perhaps a relative or colleague who undergoes this treatment periodically can point you to the clinic they go to.

However, you may also locate one using the yellow pages. Going online too will also help in your search. Since you’re already on the net, perform some background checking of the clinic you’re considering.

People with hairs darker than their skin are the best candidates for undergoing this procedure. It has something to do with how a laser beam works, zooming in on objects with more pigmentation. In a single session, large areas of the body may receive the treatment. People often receive it on their toes, legs, bikini area, back, chest, underarms, arms, hands, neck, above the lips and the rest of the face.

Many weeks will pass before you notice re-growths. People have reported that re-growths are lighter in color and are smoother to the touch. Undergoing multiple treatments may even cause re-growths to completely come to a halt. Now you know why although it’s expensive than other hair-removal methods, many people clamor for it.

Laser hair removal in summer time is more sought after than during any other season. If you wish to bear some skin, be kind enough to others by being an eye candy. Without those unnecessary hairs, you will look much better in your bikini or skimpy attire as you beat the weather heat.

There are many areas on the body where hair can be a nuisance. The modern technique of laser hair removal can eradicate most unwanted hair. The process is painless, fast and highly effective. It is known to yield long term if not permanent results.

This system can be applied to almost all areas of the body. Hair on the face, neck, upper lip, armpits, legs, abdomen and back can be removed with this procedure. The only area where it is not possible is around the eye as the beam can cause permanent visual damage. The procedure is popular for women who wish to neaten the bikini line.

Electrolysis is another popular method used to remove your problem permanently. Other modes of removal have been forced into the back seat since the advent of successful results achieved with lasers. Lasers usually win first place because the price tag is more attractive to clients. Electrolysis is far more expensive but treatments do not have to be repeated. This method may require multiple sessions, but the fee is still normally lower than the electrolysis technique. Once the client is satisfied with the results, it is unlikely that she will have to go back again.

This is a great advantage when compared to waxing, plucking and shaving which call for repeated treatments. The intense pulsed lights used by some salons or clinics are often described as a form of laser. This is an inaccurate statement. The same results cannot be achieved. The intense pulsed light calls for greater expertise and a great deal of instrument adjustment on the part of the user.

Not all bodies are suited to being treated by a laser beam. Tanned skin with hairs lighter than the skin is unsuitable. The beam is drawn to the darker part of the target. Dark hairs on light skin can be treated successfully by this system. The laser is simply a highly concentrated light beam which is more effective when the target is darker than the surrounding skin.

Every human body is different. Laser treatments will vary from person to person. Some may require more sessions than others and, while the system is highly advanced, there is no guarantee that all patients can have satisfactory results. It is advisable to avoid clinics that use brash advertising and claim 100 percent success every time. Reputable and trustworthy establishments do not make misleading statements. Be wary of places that offer discounts. This highly technical and scientific treatment does not warrant cheaper rates.

Home systems are available. They work in the same way as commercial systems. The beam will always be drawn to areas that is darker. On a light skin, the intense light of the beam reaches the follicle where it is transformed to heat. This heat destroys the follicle preventing further growth.

If you decide to try a home system, test a small patch first and stop if you see or feel any sign of discomfort. Remember the professionals and dermatologists are far better qualified and experienced to administer laser hair removal treatment.

Botox treatment tips for newbies who are considering how this service might enhance your lifestyle. There are a number of misconceptions about the technique that should be thoroughly understood before anyone acquires this procedure. There are a variety of service options to choose from; and there is also the all too important task of identifying licensed professionals that are authorized to provide this service.

One of the misconceptions is that this chemical paralyzes the muscles in the face that contribute to frown lines. It is even believed that one loses the ability to control the muscles that had been treated with Botox. The overall objective of the botox treatment is to reduce the amount of over activity in one specific area of the face. What generally happens is those unintended facial expressions that have left impressions appear more relaxed.

If too much of the chemical is injected in one specific area this can lead to paralysis of the muscle; however this is never the intention. A practitioner generally aims to provide just enough of the chemical to that specific area to provide a refreshed appearance. This makes a great deal of sense when you consider that your overactive muscles have been put into a state of partial inactivity.

Once the procedure has been completed the untrained eye of onlookers will generally believe that an individual simply looks refreshed. This is generally the ideal outcome and a number of individuals aspires to achieve. Having a rejuvenated appearance is absolutely attainable with this procedure when you have taken the time to align yourself with individuals who have a reputation for providing quality services.

There is some discrepancy around whether the procedure is painful or not; and this heavily depends upon one’s level of pain tolerance. If you find that you are someone who does not have an issue with needles you will probably be very comfortable. For those who have apprehensions around receiving shots you might want to visit your local practitioner to explore what the process will entail; this can help you to work through the unknown variables.

The process is simply one of those things where you would have to be wholeheartedly committed to taking on this level of degree of reward. While getting older has its benefits there are some strains in life that could create unfavorable lines in the facial area. Creating an opportunity where you could address an issue that is holding you back from being personable should be taken under strong consideration.

Before anyone takes on a procedure that could alter the state of their health they should consider consulting with their medical doctor. Having their insight will give you the added incentive you need to make an intelligent choice. They have additional knowledge that you can utilize to create the leverage you want; and might even have a reputable referral source.

Botox treatment tips for newbies is a great way to assess your level of commitment to this procedure before any services are rendered. Adding insight required will allow you to make an intelligent decision and ensure that you are in the right hands. Everyone taking the time to explore this process deserves to have all of the information they need to have a positive outcome.

Various massage therapy techniques can do wonders for your health and comfort. Well before there were massage therapists, physical therapist, and doctors massage was used to help the body find its natural healing center. As an ancient practice, the power of skillful touch could help the body recover from physical injury or illness as well as emotional trauma. The same holds true today.

Massaging the body helps to increase and promote circulation, which in turn helps carry more red oxygenated blood cells through the body. The increase in circulation can help reduce swelling and inflammation. Better blood flow also helps the white blood cells that are busy fighting infection to move through the body more effectively, ridding themselves of waste material faster and with more efficiency.

Whether you have a specific injury or your body just has unspecific aches and pains, massage for men therapy can help reduce the pain while promoting better range of motion. Muscles that surround an injury or a point of inflammation on the body are likely to become sore and tired because they are in a constant state of protection. They tighten automatically in order to protect the area from further aggravation. This can become very painful.

When you use massage therapy to help reduce pain you also tend to increase body awareness. You can learn how to recognize the signs of muscles that are in the early stages of seizing. This helps you change the situation whenever possible to help the muscles relax again. With many injuries it is quite possible to change your posture, which can also take a toll on your musculoskeletal system.

The proven benefits of massage therapy techniques go beyond the beliefs of ancient tradition. Science has learned that the body responds accordingly to various techniques and helps you feel calm and relaxed. The immune system has been scientifically proven to respond well during and after a massage.

There are numerous emotional benefits as well. Anxiety and depression are two of the greatest emotionally based problems in our life today. Anxiety can be alleviated through the process of relaxing your body. When anxiety is high, brain chemicals that tense the muscles, increase awareness, and prepare the body and mind for the flight or fight response kick into high gear. This can help perpetuate the anxiety when it is not in response to immediate danger. Using various techniques, massage therapists can help you access a calm and peaceful state.

Depression and stress can be reduced through many of the techniques used today. In a therapeutic setting, massage can help you breathe and remain calm while associating positive thoughts to touch. Often, a therapist can teach you how to stimulate your own body into a relaxed state by doing a self massage on the hand, arm, or other specific location.

Fortunately, you don’t have to be suffering from a specific condition to respond to the massage therapy techniques that are in use today. Rather, anyone can benefit from the practice and reap the health benefits to stay healthy. Our bodies are used in all kinds of unnatural positions and are not always cared for vehemently enough. This is one method of increasing the care you offer even a healthy body.

Yes, it’s true. There are many sauna benefits for skin conditions. We all know that taking a sauna can relax our bodies and eliminate toxins. However, we don’t all know that a sauna has tremendous benefits for the skin.

Saunas, also called sweat baths, have been used by mankind since the Stone Age. Today, they are still used worldwide to maintain peak physical and emotional health. In many cultures, sauna baths serve as social meeting places. Modern day doctors and scientists have acknowledged that induced sweating has benefits. This is something our forefathers knew by instinct.

The skin is the biggest body organ. It is always being exposed to wind, sun, differing temperatures and harmful air pollutants. Taking a regular sauna can invigorate, rejuvenate and revitalize your skin. You skin can stay healthy and glowing.

During the process of detoxification, around 30% of toxins are eliminated via the skin pores through sweating. The heat of a sauna bath will increase sweating, enabling the pores to enlarge. This promotes the release of even more toxins. After being in a sauna for two minutes, the body heats up and starts sweating, enabling detoxification to start quickly.

Our bodies accumulate harmful free radicals and toxins. Some are eliminated by the kidneys. But the kidneys are unable to eradicate toxins that have built up in body tissue. The only way of releasing these is by sweating. If you don’t live in an extremely humid climate, your body will not sweat enough. Therefore a sauna is an ideal way to make your body sweat.

Sauna bathing can be done two ways, i. E. Wet or dry. Both methods basically have the same benefits. While in a sauna, your heart rate will speed up by about 50%. This will make blood pump rapidly through your organs. This skin also derives benefits from this accelerated rate.

With increased blood flow, the skin can be fed extra oxygen and essential nutrients. This will leave it looking healthy and feeling rejuvenated. Despite what many think, sauna bathing does not leave skin dry and rough. In fact, quite the opposite – it is left smooth and soft. In addition to providing the skin with nourishment, sauna bathing can improve the elasticity of external and internal scarring.

A sauna can also help clear skin blemishes like acne and eczema, as well as scrapes and cuts. Again, the contributing factor is increased blood circulation. Blood cells also get recharged, making the healing process quicker. If you suffer with any skin problems such as acne, taking regular sauna baths should reveal a significant improvement. The heat can also accelerate the breakdown of cellulite.

Apart from sauna benefits for skin conditions, there are numerous other mental and physical benefits. For instance, one half-hour session in a sauna will burn 300 to 600 calories which can assist in weight loss. An accumulation of physical stress can cause all kinds of body aches and pains. The humidity and heat emitted by a sauna can relax sore, tired muscles and diffuse pain. Relaxing in a sauna can also eliminate a lot of emotional stress

Massage therapy is one of the most popular jobs on the market today, especially in Canada. This is because, unlike the United States, a Registered Massage Therapist can work across provinces with very little additional training. Today, massage therapy can be a great field to work in for the right person who desires to offer such healing services. In fact, to add on to such training, most individuals work through an online course and testing in order to do so.

Also, one of the newer organizations which identifies as the National Massage Therapy Alliance has replaced an older alliance. In addition, as each alliance requires their therapists to complete coursework through one of the affiliated programs in the area, with the right training and additional testing one can provide such services in all Canadian provinces. In order to become registered and do so, one must be a successful graduate from an accredited massage school which is recognized by the Canadian province in which one intends to provide such services.

Although, as many individuals who have ever attended any form of massage training can tell you, especially in Canada, one must continue completing coursework over time. In addition, if one wishes to work in relation to different styles of massage and techniques, one can do so by completing additional coursework over time. At which time, one can hold on their registration while attempting to learn and work with different massage techniques.

With regards as to where to obtain such coursework, there are a variety of programs offered in several styles of massage all across Canada. So, if one can pinpoint an area in which one is interested in providing services, even if only until one completes additional coursework, one can have more flexibility in doing so.

Although, massage therapy can definitely be an excellent field in which to work which offers a great deal of independence as well as monetary support if one is good at the process. As in Ontario, requirements are that individuals complete 2200 hours of coursework before becoming a registered massage therapist. However, as one is generally working as an apprentice, one can learn a great deal about massage styles and techniques by doing so.

As of the first of April, 2009, Canadian Ministers stated that those working in such a field may now cross-train and work in a number of Canadian provinces with the right training. Also, if one has excellent history and training, doing so can land one many jobs.

Therefore, if one plans to become a therapist in Ontario and is already registered, additional coursework is required periodically to keep both a license and registration in tact. Therefore, as long as one has no grievances against others, is professional in demeanor and has permission, there are a number of ways in which one can make money at the same time as training to become a registered massage therapist.

As for costs, while nowhere near expensive as the United States, going to school in Canada for massage can be less expensive. However, federal funding is only allowed to those on the Canadian council. Therefore, one may want to save and study the different forms of massage to decide which one is most interested in before beginning such training.

Whereas, if one can attend a school that is operated on a not-for-profit basis, one can pay as little as $500 to $700 in order to become a registered massage therapist. Still, whether one has paid training or is paying a reduced amount of tuition, massage therapy can be a great field. For, while one is assisting one to relax, one may also be helping the healing process of body, mind and soul, whether with or without the client’s knowledge.

Therefore, although one may have to spend a great deal of time in training to become a massage therapist in Canada, it is something many decide to do. As, by becoming a massage therapist, one can retain their independence, work the hours which one desires to work and can help people in the process. Something, not a lot of other jobs available today seem to offer, especially with the recent economic downturn.

Celebrities and cosmetic surgery is hot topic today. Some of the best examples of good cosmetic surgery may never be known. Many famous people seem to have deified the ravages of time, somehow. The worst cosmetic surgeries, are the ones that make the news. This can sour people from considering it. Many people wonder about celebrities and cosmetic surgery. Who has had this work done? Who has not? There are many good cosmetic surgery jobs done every year. Often times, it leaves people guessing. It is easy to tell that some have had different procedures. Many celebrities do not wish to reveal that part of their private lives. Here are some examples of surgery and famous people.

Rhinoplasty
This is commonly referred to as a nose job. When a trained surgeon makes subtle changes to the nose, it can have dramatic results. It can also be done to improve nasal breathing. Britney Spears recent rhinoplasty is a good example. The surgeon made her nose slightly smaller. It retained its original shape. Most people agree that it was a good decision on her part.

Breast implants
Breast augmentation is a very popular celebrity subject. Pamela Anderson became famous after her breast enlargement. Today, many are having subtle changes. If a woman is an A cup one day and a C cup the next, there is usually little doubt as to surgery. However, they are done so well done, it is too hard to tell. In some cases, the breasts can be made smaller, as with Dolly Parton. This was done for her back.

Facial implants
Facial implants are used to enhance certain features of the face. In some cases, facial implants may be a part of reconstructive surgery. People that have been in accidents can have their looks restored. Roseanne Barr admits to having cheek lift surgery. It is another example of good cosmetic surgery. However, most celebrities will not admit to facial implants, even if it is apparent.

Blepharoplasty
Eyelid surgery is a very popular technique today. It may be part of an entire face lift procedure. It can change facial appearance dramatically. The upper or lower eyelids may be done. As you age, fatty deposits may appear under the skin of your eyelids. The skin is no longer as elastic as it was. The eyelids may droop or there may be bags under the eyes. It can make you look old and tired. When the sagging skin is tightened, it can make you look years younger. Jane Fonda is an example of good blepharoplasty.

Brow lift
Brow lift surgery helps the forehead look younger. As you age, the skin can wrinkle and change the shape of your face. Bringing your forehead skin back to its younger position, can remove a tired look to the face. This may be done with eyelid surgery. Many celebrities keep good brow lifts a secret. Debbie Harry recently had such work done. Many people agree that she appears much younger as a result.
