Specific Care Of Body With Liposuction Surgery
Liposuction has become a very popular surgery for middle aged people as a way to either take off those last few pounds or to get rid of a few added pounds that have suddenly shown up. This surgery has become very routine for many surgeons and while patients faced a lot of pain years ago, advancements have made it much less painful. However, there is still specific care of body with liposuction surgery that should be taken.
Upon leaving the hospital, the patient can expect to get a check list or some type of instruction from the doctor. In most cases, it will give a point by point list of what the patient can and cannot do over the next few weeks after the surgery. This is a quick rundown of what can be expected once the patient arrives back home.
Liposuction patients will be put into a compression garment after the surgery. Depending upon where the surgery was, they will have to remain in that garment for up to 2 days without removing it. After that, the garment will have to be worn at all times except when in the shower for about 3 weeks. Once that period has passed, the garment will only have to be worn during waking hours for another 3 weeks.
It is very important to follow the rules of wearing the garment. Because the surgery is removing the fat that is attaching the skin to the bones, it must be compressed so that sagging does not result. The first three weeks are the most critical to reinitiate the bonding process and after about a month and a half, the process should be completed.
When the patient gets home, they can expect to see bruising. This is normal and will be in the area in and around where all of the fat was removed from. These areas are also going to be very sore from the liposuction. It is extremely important to rest and allow the body to recover from this invasive procedure.
Depending upon the technique of the surgeon, there may be some leakage from the incisions after the patient returns home. This is because some of the fluids that are used during the procedure may not have been totally sucked out during the procedure. It may be a little messy or disgusting, but it is nothing to be alarmed about. It is however important that care is taken so that the compression garment remains clean and dry.
The patient should do little to nothing for the first few days after the surgery and then can proceed to walk around but must avoid any heavy activity at all costs for at least two weeks. Once the period has passed where they need to keep the compression suit on all the time, they can resume with some light exercise and can return to their normal routine when the suit is no longer needed.
Make no mistake about it, the body is going to need some time to heal after this procedure and the post op rules that are laid out by the doctor must be followed to a tee. Rest is imperative to allow the body to heal and to regain the cohesiveness that it had prior to the surgery. While it may not seem like it right after the surgery, your body will be as good as new in a few months and looking much leaner than before.
Scarless Tummy Tuck Exposed
A scarless tummy tuck or partial abdominoplasty will result in smaller and less visible tummy tuck scars. The cosmetic surgeon makes the incision much smaller than the incision made for a full abdominoplasty incision. You may be an ideal candidate for a scarless tummy tuck, if you lost elasticity in your abdomen and nothing you do improves it. Things such as age, pregnancy or a lot of weight gain can cause your skin on your abdomen to lose elasticity. This procedure is mainly for problems in the lower abdomen. There shouldnt be to much excess fat in this area. Your abdomen will look taut after this surgery because the surgeon will remove excess skin and tighten the muscles.
A scarless tummy tuck only takes a few hours so the surgical risk for patients is lower. Smoking should be stopped at least two weeks before surgery because it can higher the risks of complications. Your surgeon will give you guidelines on how to prepare for the surgery.
A general anesthetic or local anesthetic in addition to a sedative will be used. The surgeon may also do liposuction along with the surgery.
The surgeon will make an incision above the pubis and then stretch the skin flap down. The fat will than be removed and the skin tightened. He will stitch the flap back into place. The belly button doesnt need to be removed during this procedure.
A great benefit of a scarless tummy tuck is you dont have to stay in the hospital long. Some patients even go home the same day. Pain, tenderness, swelling and bruising are some of the symptoms you may have after this surgery. You can do some light activities after a couple of days if you feel up to it. It may take a whole month to completely recover. Your stitches will be taken out about 10 days after your tummy tuck. You need to be more active after the stitches are out to keep blood clots from forming and to help you recover quicker. Always follow your surgeons advice and keep all your appointments.Scarless Tummy Tuck Exposed

Many people are simply not pleased with how much they weigh, and liposuction can generally help them out with their discomfort with the extra weight that they may have accumulated. Although, this may be an embarrassing topic for many, it is quite normal, and the procedure generally works in the favor of everyone who decides to choose this approach in combating weight.
In talking about liposuction, many people feel as if it may be a little risky, and they generally wonder if they are the ideal candidate for it. Luckily, everyone can usually have it done, as it is not a very strenuous process. The criterion for the perfect liposuction patient is:
- In good health – Non-smoking – Within twenty five pounds of the target weight – Without any significant health problems – Exercise regularly – Does not have fluctuations in health – Are genuinely realistic about the surgery
It is also noteworthy to state that the person does not require that this is a weight-loss method, which is the common misconception about weight loss. The desiring candidate should know that this is a reshaping process for aesthetic purposes. Other areas for concern are the age of the patient, although it is not absolutely a huge concern, but the elasticity of the skin obviously deteriorates over the course of time.
Other noteworthy mention is the state of the skin when choosing to undergo the liposuction procedure. For instance, those with cellulite and/or stretch marks do not have the same results as people that do not, and may not find that their surgery wasn’t as much as a success than what they had envisioned it to be.
Results After liposuction, the patient will generally feel amazing about the choice that they made, and they will absolutely love the way that they look. The procedure is usually one that does not incur many problematic experiences, and the recovery is something that can be described as one of a breeze. For the person who would like to have this method done to improve the way that they look, it is wise to state that they should talk to their doctor with a more in-depth consideration into what they are about to embark on. Although it is very rewarding, the process may not be for everyone, so proper research about liposuction would most definitely be advisable for those looking to improve their look!

Liposuction – Pay For A Slimmer Body
People assume that money can buy everything including a slim and firm body. Well with liposuction prices going down and decreasing they might just get their wish.
A good diet and exercise should come first though and we owe it ourselves to try that before opting for liposuction surgery.
Most people don’t care for that kind of advice. They want to look like the stars on TV.
The difference is that celebrities have many options available to them. Including the option to pay for the best cosmetic surgeons in th world.
The money they have also means that they are not like us and don’t have to be back at work in few days after the surgery. They can relax comfortably in the luxury of their homes.
They can just relax and heal completely while they wait for their slender body to appear. They do have pressure to land movie roles. The kind of roles they won’t get if they have fat on their bodies.
You and I though don’t have that kind of pressure and we should give exercise and diet a chance.
Nothing will change you mind though, right? You’re getting liposuction and it’s final. But why not exercise and diet before surgery.
You will certainly see more pleasing results after your surgery if you were in better shape before your liposuction surgery.
Many plastic surgeons actually insist on a good diet and regular exercise before they preform surgery on you.
This is for your own good because you don’t want your healing process to linger on for months on end after the surgery.
Being in better shape might also give you a head start and further depart you from your old lifestyle. The lifestyle that caused you to get liposuction.
Nothing is worse than to have liposuction surgery performed only to gain back the weight in a year or two.
So if you’re going to get liposuction make sure you know how to keep the fat off for good.
Failing to do so might make it impossible to get another liposuction done in the same location.
Surgeons are reluctant to perform liposuction on the same area more than once, they don’t want to deal with the risks.
Last but not least is the costs that are involved. Thinking about liposuction is one thing and paying for liposuction is another.
Your personal insurance won’t pay for the surgery you can bet on that. If you have a lot of money well you can just pay by check.
If you are like everyone else then you’ll probably need financing. If you are lucky your plastic surgeon might offer liposuction financing.
You can also pay for your liposuction by getting a loan from one of the numerous lending institutions.
The cost of liposuction has been decreasing but liposuction prices are nevertheless high. Making sure that you can afford the procedure is extremely important.
The last thing you want is to have a great body and be totally broke because the liposuction price was too expensive for you.
How Liposuction Might Help A Friend
At a high school reunion, I was shocked to see my classmate, who back then attracted guys faster than you could say chick-magnet, balloon to an unbelievable size. I now sympathized with my friend, especially when people made comparisons to her younger years just as I had done.
However, I wasn’t the only one to notice the change. Apparently, my friend did too, and later I visited her to see where exactly the problem lay. However, I was surprised to hear that the weight gain was gradual, and not triggered by any emotional factors. Furthermore, the fat lay in certain stubborn areas, which did not respond to any type of exercise, diet or even a complete lifestyle change. In fact, all in her family above the age of 30 were known to be obese, so the extra fat seemed hereditary. The once-social butterfly had shed her confidence and retreated into a cocoon.
Although liposuction does not promise a miraculous transformation, I believe it is just the tool needed by my friend, and others like her, who have tried every trick in the book. Liposuction is a form of cosmetic surgery that removes fat cells from the body, especially from the waist downwards, in specific fat deposit zones: the hips, buttock and outer thighs.
The treatment involves a surgical procedure in which fat is removed from under the skin with the use of a vacuum-suction cannula (a hollow pen-like instrument). Sometimes, an ultrasonic probe, which breaks up the fat into small pieces, may be used, and that fat is then removed by suction.1 Since one is under local or general anesthesia, there is no feeling of pain.
However, liposuction is not going to transform that flabby image, because it is not a weight-loss surgery, but rather a body enhancing one. The process is slow, but one that’s much needed for those who have exhausted all their options. After the surgery, doctors advise a strict diet, but this should not be too difficult for people who have already gone that road. Furthermore, another session might be needed to remove additional fat. The good thing about liposuction is that one can treat many areas of the body at one go.
So far, in the US alone, more than 500,000 people opt for liposuction, making it the most popular type of cosmetic surgery. Because these people know that confidence is the right of every individual (even if it means having to go through a minor inconvenience, such as surgery), they take that step to look good and feel great.
How to Pick the Right Doctor for Liposuction Surgery
Liposuction surgery may not be as life-threatening like other health and medical surgeries but it does have its risks and it can develop complications. Most of the time, your choice of a doctor to perform the procedure is the key to a safe and effective procedure. Here are some things that you should know about liposuction doctors.
The Where and Who
Although doctors are allowed to conduct it in a clinic, in a surgery center or in the outpatient section, most liposuction surgeries are conducted in the hospital. Most liposuction procedures are conducted by dermatologists or surgeons but the truth is, any doctor can conduct liposuction surgery. There are no special requirements or trainings required by law for this kind of surgery. This means that the effectiveness and your experience of the procedure will depend on your doctor’s ability.
The Role of the Doctor
Aside from being the person who will suction your fats, your doctor should also be the first person to assess everything about you and your liposuction surgery. Your doctor should assess your medical history and your present state of health. He should also take a closer look at the extent of the condition of your fat deposits and the condition of your skin. Most of all, your doctor should be able to determine the best liposuction surgery technique for your unique condition. In other words, your doctor has the responsibility for determining your fitness as a candidate, the fitness and safety of a procedure and the appropriateness of emergency precautions and procedures.
Dangers of Having the Wrong Doctor
As mentioned, a liposuction surgery may not pose the same life-threatening dangers as other, more serious medical surgeries but it does have its risks and dangers. You could however, be the rare one in a million casualty in the hands of an incompetent doctor. Accidents such as excessive bleeding, organ punctures, tissue injury and chemical toxicity could happen.
How to Pick the Right Doctor
Here below are some tips and advise in selecting the right doctor to conduct your liposuction surgery procedure:
- Cleanliness of the clinic or environment where the doctor performs your liposuction surgery should be one criteria in choosing the right surgeon. A reputable doctor will not be afraid to give you a tour of the facilities as well as give explanations about the equipment for the procedure. His clinic should also be near emergency medical facilities in case of an accident. If you are not sure about your doctor, look for a doctor in a reputable hospital or medical facility.
-Learn as much as you can about the liposuction surgery you’re about to undergo. Although you may never be as good as your doctor in understanding the procedure, your knowledge may be able to help you formulate the right questions for your doctor to answer.
- Choose from several doctors. Scout or interview several doctors before choosing the best one. It would be better if you could actually get several recommendations from qualified individuals you can trust. Your general practitioner for example may have a good idea where to find the best doctors in the field of liposuction surgery.
- Do your own research on the doctor’s qualifications. Although any doctor may perform liposuction surgery, common sense should tell you that it is best to go for a licensed surgeon. He should at least be a graduate of an accredited medical school and is certified by organizations for surgeons. It is also better if he has had some special training in liposuction.
3 Mistakes People Make When Choosing A Liposculpture Doctor
Finding a top notch surgeon to perform liposculpture is of top importance. Too many people mistakenly factor in other things over the doctor, or they simply just don’t know what to look for in the first. Let’s go over 3 mistakes often made when choosing a doctor.
1. They shop around for price alone. While on one hand, it’s understandable that you’d want to get a great price on liposculpture, let’s step back and take a look at it in a different light. If you were going to buy a used car, would you buy the cheapest one on the lot? Of course not, you’d want to get something for a good price which offers good value for your purchase. Now, this example is just in relation to a car – but for liposculpture, we are talking about sculpting your body, far more personal and important than a car! Shopping for price alone could lead to blindly choosing an inexperienced doctor, a nightmare scenario for increasing the risks of the surgery. Price should be a consideration, but only in the sense that the doctors prices should more or less be in the same range as everyone else. Don’t get duped into low quality service by a low price.
2. They don’t ask the doctor a lot of questions. Don’t be afraid to occupy the doctors time; ask every question you have until you get an answer. A good doctor will work with you in this regard and take pride in answering your questions so that you feel confident in your decision. If a doctor won’t sit down and discuss with you your concerns, move on to the next one who will.
3. The doctor doesn’t have a long track record. This is not to demean newer or younger doctors, but the fact is, if you’re going to trust someone with your body, let’s trust someone who has the experience to back it up. Don’t be afraid to look for before and after photos and see proof of experience.
Liposculpture surgery can improve your body by making you thinner and better looking. Don’t risk those benefits by making the mistakes above. More than price, you want to find a doctor who you feel comfortable with and whom also has years of experience. Don’t accept anything else for your body!
Liposuction for Men is Growing in Popularity
Liposuction is one of the most common cosmetic surgical procedures available. Used mainly by women for a long period of time, the number of males having the procedure is growing rapidly. Liposuction can be a very effective way of removing fatty deposits from troublesome areas.
While it is important to note that liposuction is not a cure for obesity or to be used in place of diet and exercise, it provides many benefits. Whether you are a man who has a natural build-up of fatty tissues in certain areas of the body despite toning or have lost weight and now experience disproportionate amounts of body fat, liposuction can be helpful.
Liposuction is usually performed under general anaesthesia, though some cases may be performed using local anaesthesia and mild sedation. Male liposuction is performed using a procedure called tumescent liposuction, which uses a solution of anaesthetic and epinephrine to aid in the removal of large amounts of fatty tissue. The tissue is removed using very fine tubes called cannulas that are inserted into small incisions and attached to suction pumps.
Many areas of the body are commonly operated on during male liposuction treatment, depending on the placement of fatty deposits. Commonly operated on areas include the face and neck, thighs, hips, calves, ankles, knees, arms, breasts, abdomen, and back. Before operating, your surgeon will conduct a thorough physical examination including blood work to ensure that you are a good candidate for the procedure.
After the procedure is completed, you will be required to wear a girdle for up to two weeks and will have to undergo courses of massage and ultrasound treatments. These procedures will help to reduce recovery time. Patients can return to work after only a few days, but must wait two weeks before beginning even a limited exercise regimen.
Side effects of liposuction include swelling, bruising, numbness and pain. Swelling may take up to three months to improve, and the full results may take up to a year to be visible. Doctors typically prescribe moderate to strong painkillers to alleviate postoperative pain. Complications of male liposuction are rare but can include blood clots, infections, and allergic reactions. Telling your doctor of any medications or supplements you take prior to surgery can help reduce this risk. As with all surgical procedures, it is imperative that you choose a licensed cosmetic surgeon with experience with the procedure to reduce risks of side effects and complications.
Hidden Costs of Bargain Liposuction Surgery
When shopping for cosmetic surgeons, it’s important to consider the hidden costs of bargain clinics. Firstly, because of lower prices, most surgeons that compete on price make up for their thinner margins through volume. That means they are more likely to tell you that you are a candidate for their services. It’s important for the individual to do their own research and consult with a variety of surgeons. And if you are being price conscious, it’s best not to go too far from the median because you begin to take on unforeseen risks once the price falls too far below average. For your reference, the average cost of liposuction in the abdominals should be between $4,000 and $8,000.
If you can’t afford the surgery in one lump sum payment, many surgeons will work out a payment plan with their patients. You would rather spend a little more now, and take the financial hit because it is recoverable. If you go too cheap and fat cells are destroyed and your body doesn’t look the way it should, that damage is probably permanent and not recoverable.
Don’t be fooled by ridiculously low prices advertised in magazines or radio and TV ads. Usually there are hidden fees not visible up front. There are cases of low prices advertised with small discretion that anesthesia and facility fees are not included.
For micro areas laser liposuction is an ideal choice because until traditional liposuction that uses general anesthesia, laser liposuction only requires local anesthesia which will save some money. Generally the anesthesia fee can range from $500 to $1,000 depending on the size and number of areas to be worked on. Facility fees also depending on the size and number of areas where the procedure will be performed.
Some advertised discounts fail to mention that you will not be getting a board certified anesthesiologist but a nurse. Some advertise board certified cosmetic surgeons but have surgeons in dentistry, gynecology, or just a general practitioner. Make sure your surgeon is not without a board certification in plastic surgery.
Any surgery is a serious procedure and price should be one of the last considerations when looking for a surgeon. For laser liposuction and traditional liposuction surgeries, the cost varies depending on the cosmetic surgery market of the region, the skill of the surgeon, and the size and number of areas that will be covered.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons recently put out a warning that the quality of care and safety cannot be compromised by those considering plastic surgery during the economic downturn. It states that patients should proceed carefully prior to putting their health and physical bodies in the hands of anyone who is not qualified to perform surgery. But you already knew that didn’t you?
How to Get Rid of Cellulite? Is it ALL Possible?
Cellulite is the lumpy substance resembling cottage cheese (or orange peel) that is commonly found on the thighs, stomach, and other body parts. Cellulite is actually a fancy name for collections of fat that push against the connective tissue beneath a person’s skin, which causes the surface of the skin to dimple and look lumpy.
While not life threatening, it’s considered unsigthly to the point that wearing a bathing suit or shorts becomes a real torture for some women.
Interestingly, the term “cellulite” isn’t even a medical term. It was first introduced by a fashion magazine in the 1920s and was picked up by English language publications in the late 1960s. From the medical perspective, “cellulite” is a quack term for ordinary body fat.
It is a myth that you won’t get cellulite if you stay slim. Cellulite is a random physical condition in women of all ages and body sizes. There are a number of reasons thin women can still get cellulite, which include unhealthy diet of fatty/starchy foods, lack of exercise, poor blood circulation, smoking, and sitting or standing in a single position for long periods of time.
How to Get Rid of Cellulite?
All you need to do is begin a search for information about cellulite and you will find yourself bombarded with commercial messages. There are hundreds of resources claiming to reduce or eliminate the embarrassing orange-peel, and “for only $$$ you too can permanently get rid of this condition.”
The most popular are various creams, balms and gels. They are said to help smoothe, detoxify, and hydrate the “affected area”. While the efficacy of these products is often disputed, some women claim they do see improvement. If you want to try them for yourself, keep in mind that some of these creams and other topical products contain ingredients that can be potentially harmful. Many people may have hidden allergies that only surface when the individual comes in contact with a “new” trigger, so read the labels and do skin test on a small area first to be on the safe side.
Many spas and salons offer a treatment called body wrapping. This procedure claims to remove inches from the waist, thighs, hips or other parts of the body, as well as eliminate, or at the very least reduce, cellulite. Whether that last claim is true or not, I’ll leave up to you to determine. What I can say is that visiting a spa or salon for body wrapping may be a wonderfully rejuvenating experience, leaving you rested and refreshed. Who wouldn’t like to have a few hours being pampered and fussed over in a relaxing environment regardless if it helps the cellulite problem.
Some people claim that the only answer to cellulite is liposuction. Liposuction is an invasive procedure that involves surgery with a tool with a v-shaped blade that is inserted through small excisions in the skin to cut the fibrous bands of tissue that form the structure where the cellulite is formed.
It is important to remember that liposuction is a surgical procedure and that there may be serious complications. The cosmetic effect after liposuction may be good and many patients report being satisfied, however, it is possible that it will be less dramatic than what you were expecting and may not be permanent. In summary, it’s a costly surgical procedure that could hinder the body’s natural circulation and waste-elimination processes, and has left some women with more lumps than before.
There are many other methods as well, such as electric muscle stimulation, hydrotherapy, body brushing and massage with use of caffeine or juniper oil. However, the bottom line is that no cream, oil, electronic device, or surgery can completely eliminate cellulite. Some may in fact slow down the accumulation and lessen appearance of cellulite temporarily, but none have been proven to actually eliminate it.
Is there any hope?
With all this said, I am sure you are wondering if there is hope. Well, actually there is.
Study after study has shown that the key to reducing cellulite significantly is by a combination of both proper diet and exercise. If you get rid of excess weight and exercise regularly to tone up muscles, you will most definitely see an improvement.
We all wish there was a “magic genie bottle” to help us get rid of orange-peel, but in the end there really is no substitute for good, old-fashioned, healthy nutrition and exercise.
